Helm Provisions is a business-to-business (B2B) platform that lets restaurants send purchase orders to their vendors. Vendor representatives receive order notifications by SMS at the business phone number provided during onboarding. This page explains how consent is collected, what messages are sent, and how to opt out.
A vendor representative is added as an order contact by an authorized restaurant operator, who enters the vendor's business phone number into Helm Provisions. Upon being added, the vendor representative receives a one-time opt-in confirmation SMS informing them that purchase orders will be sent to their number, with instructions to reply STOP to opt out at any time. Messages are sent solely as part of an existing B2B business relationship. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any consumer purchase, reservation, or service.
Verbal consent script
Before adding a vendor representative's number, the restaurant operator reads the following platform provided script to the vendor:
"We use Helm Provisions to send you our purchase orders by text message. May I add your business mobile number so you receive order notifications? You'll get a confirmation text first, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies."
The vendor representative verbally agrees before the operator enters the number, which triggers the opt-in confirmation SMS below.
